Business System Analysis and Modelling

What does this cover?

This service provides the means of investigating the operations, information content and structure of a business and the formal statement of the relationships of those elements.

Why is this important?

Formal analysis of a business operation provides the mechanism for understanding how its people interact, what information they interchange and whether those processes are successful.

The documented output from such analysis allows for the participants to evaluate the effectiveness of themself and their area of operation. Additionally it provides a model from which to derive a more successful operation.

How can this service be used?

The output from analysis and modelling of a business process may, in the most basic way, be used as an readable information souce which individuals or work-groups may use as a guide in developing better work practice, better information gathering and exchange and in identifying the need for new processes.

Alternatively such analysis may form the system requirement/design document for the mechanisation of the business operation as the means of regularising or automating improved performance.

What are the outputs of this service?

In performing this service we should, in the first instance, produce a textual report of a business operation and its components allowing the operative(s) to digest the consequence of that operation in its totality.

Should a client wish to proceed further then we should produce a computer system model and identify the costing of its implmentation.
